Australian Community Reference Climate Data Collection @ NCI¶
What is it?¶
A collaboration between the Australian Climate Service (ACS), ARC Centre of Excellence for the Weather of the 21st Century (W21C) and the wider Australian climate research community to maintain a reference dataset collection at NCI.
Background¶
Observational and reanalysis datasets are important to many areas of weather, climate and ocean research. Some high profile datasets are actively managed as stand alone projects on NCI (e.g. ERA5 in project rt52, AGCD in zv2, BARRA in ma05/cj37), but there are many other datasets of interest to the community that are not. To reduce duplication of time, effort and storage across the climate research community, the Australian Community Reference Climate Data Collection @ NCI is a centralised, managed and well documented location for storing and sharing commonly used reference datasets.
Who’s involved?¶
Damien Irving, Chloe Mackallah and Claire Trenham from ACS
Sam Green from W21C
Other ACS/W21C staff and community members as required
